Storage space
Whether you're moving house, going away for a long time or just want to clear out some clutter, you're bound to need a storage unit one day! Today, the solutions available for this storage need have evolved. You no longer need to give notice of your arrival or respect certain opening hours. There are fewer constraints, and greater flexibility to adapt to the needs of private individuals and professionals.
What's the difference between furniture storage and self-storage?
Self-storage gives you total freedom to manage your storage space. Restrictions are kept to a minimum, so you have unlimited access at all times. The rental contract is also more flexible: you can terminate it easily, at no extra cost, depending on the service provider you choose. The classic version of sealed furniture storage effectively prevents you from getting in and out as you please. The commitment is also more restrictive, as you generally sign a fixed-term contract. However, today often we talk about self-storage and furniture storage without making too much of a distinction between the too terms.
Drive-up self-storage
Self-storage allows private individuals and businesses to rent a private storage unit. It is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using a unique personal code. The term "Drive" or "Drive-up" means that you can access your space directly from your vehicle.
What does a storage unit look like?
It all depends on what you want to store: furniture, archives, wine, etc. Our units come in different sizes, with rates that vary according to the service provider you choose. At MondialBox, our storage units are containers, known for their great robustness and ground-level access.
Are my belongings safe?
Choose a service provider that offers optimum security on several levels. All our branches are equipped with alarm and video surveillance systems, monitored by a recognised security company. A fob is used to enter the site and access to your unit is protected by a personal code or padlock.
Are the units strong?
Our units are new containers, like those used on ships to transport goods. That's how weatherproof they are! They are perfectly watertight, guaranteed tamper-proof, pest-proof, ventilated and lightproof. So there's no risk of your belongings being damaged or stolen.
What size unit should I choose?
We offer a range of storage units to suit all storage needs. They range in size from 5 m² to 28 m², that's big enough to accommodate the furniture of a 146 m² flat. You can use our online volume simulator to get an estimate, but the best way is to come and visit our storage units in your nearest branch.
What can I store?
Furniture, household appliances, bedding, clothes, bicycles, archives, sports equipment, IT equipment... The possibilities are endless as long as the goods are dry and not perishable. Our storage units have double-doors so you can store even large items. Before storing your belongings, it's best to pack them well and arrange them by category so you can find your way around more easily. If you have any doubts about packing an item in your unit, don't hesitate to contact us by email or telephone.
Organise the space in your box
You can use racks or storage containers in your unit. You can also use vacuum-packed bags to save space, especially for large items such as bed duvets. You need to be able to move around inside the unit, so think about this before storing your boxes and loose items! Of course, the heaviest boxes should be placed at the bottom of the pile. At MondialBox, we have a shop in each of our branches where you can buy the necessary packing materials and shelving.
How much does it cost to rent a unit?
Once again, it all depends on the service provider you choose! At MondialBox, we offer discount prices and will pay the difference if you find a cheaper price elsewhere. Our attractive rates are possible thanks to the simplicity of our concept: containers that are accessible on ground level. Only the first month's rent is fixed, after that you pay on a pro rata basis. Prices vary according to the size of the unit you want, and there are no hidden charges. No nasty surprises when you receive your monthly bill: no charges, no taxes, no extra fees. When you sign the contract, you will be asked to pay a deposit equivalent to one month's rent, nothing more.
Can I cancel the rental of my unit?
You can cancel your rental at any time, at no extra cost. All you need to do is give us 15 days' notice, which you can do by email, fax or post, or even give us a call.
Are my belongings insured? Are my belongings insured?
Your contract includes insurance coverage to the value of 2,500 euros. You can of course increase this amount with your insurance company. We also offer several options for insuring your possessions.
